Helen Vass talks to Clare English about her passion for pastry, plus pastry chef Robert Gordon describes the small steps one can take to improve desserts at home.
Helen Vass learnt to bake beside her mother when she 10 years old. Her passion for pastry and patisserie that developed took her to one of Spain's top patisserie schools to learnt the craft. Now Helen is back in Scotland and wants to teach Scots about patisserie.
Pastry is often considered the toughest section in the kitchen. When Robert Gordon started work in the kitchen he was told to respect and revere the pastry chef. Now a pastry chef himself Robert talks to Clare English about how we can all take small steps with our own cooking at home to make the ordinary desserts extraordinary.
