Nigel Ogden presents a look back at the recordings of long-serving Tower Ballroom Blackpool organist Reginald Dixon.
A look back at the recordings of long serving Tower Ballroom Blackpool organist Reginald Dixon. Reg, who died 30 years ago this week in May 1985, was one of the theatre organ world's biggest names from the 1930's until his retirement from the Tower in 1970. As well as the Tower Ballroom's world famous Wurlitzer Reg is also heard in recordings on other organs including the Compton at Abbey Road Studios and a wartime recording from the Wurlitzer at the Granada Cinema in Slough.
