Barbara Windsor continues her survey of famous men who have come from London's East End by looking at the career of the ultimate showbusiness polymath, Anthony Newley.

Singer, Song-writer, Actor, Author, Cabaret artiste, Director; Newley excelled at everything he turned his hand to.

Anthony Newley starred on the silver screen, on TV, on the Broadwayand West End stages; he had numerous top 40 hits and with his song-writing partner Leslie Bricusse, he co-wrote the musicals 'Stop the World - I Want to Get Off', 'The Roar Of The Greasepaint-The Smell Of The Crowd' and 'The Good Old Bad Old Days'.

Newley and Bricusse co-composed a canon of songs to rival any of the great song-writers' including 'Feeling Good' and 'Goldfinger', as well as the ever-popular score to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
