Bollywood playback singer Kumar Sanu chooses his favourite Hindi songs sung by the musical idols that spurred him onto becoming a singing sensation, including Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar and Mukesh.
Kumar Sanu was trained as a tabla player by his father but his first love was singing and so he pursued his dream. He made his Bollywood debut on the soundtrack for the 1987 film Aandhiyan buut his first major success was Aashiqui in 1990 which turned him into a household name.
After that there was no looking back for Kumar Sanu, who became the voice of the 90s, going onto win the Filmfare Best Male Playback Singer Award for five consecutive years.
In this exclusive programme for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network, he plays the songs that he has drawn inspiration from, songs that he enjoyed listening to as a young boy, training to be a singer.
