David Cameron

In the last of our series of interviews with party leaders is David Cameron. Elected leader in the wake of the Conservative Party’s general Election defeat in 2005 he has led his party for nearly a decade. And in 2010 he became Prime Minister of Britain’s first coalition government since the Second World War. His party stands on its record arguing that β€œthe economy is the number one issue on the ballot paper”. Furthermore they say the gender pay gap is now at its lowest point in history, with more women in work than ever before. Jane talks to David Cameron, Leader of the Conservative Party.Β

Suicide: what about those left behind?

Paul Wolfson was a bright, funny, sparky, unconventional psychiatrist living in South London with his second wife, Lore, and two young children. At the age of only 60 he was diagnosed with a rare form of early onset dementia. As a doctor, he knew the prognosis: he would lose the ability to speak and then to understand words, his character would change and eventually he would no longer be able to recognize his children. Lore and Paul talked together over his last six months - and she recorded those conversations. A airs those often upbeat and witty discussions. Lore talks to Jane about how you find meaning in such tragedy. Jenni McCartney from Samaritans’ Chair of Trustees also joins them.
