Tom Robinson talks to iconic minimalist composer Steve Reich about his career, including his latest work Radio Rewrite.

Tom talks to the iconic minimalist composer Steve Reich about his illustrious career including his latest work Radio Rewrite, the title piece of which references 2 Radiohead songs.
Steve was one of the pioneers of minimalist music in the mid to late 60s. He pioneered the use of tape loops to create phasing patterns, and used simple processes to explore differing musical concepts. His work with repetitive patterns and rhythms has been hugely influential across mainstream as well as experimental music. In 2007 he was the recipient of the Polar Music Prize with jazz saxophonist Sonny Rollins and in 2009 he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music.
Huw Stephens from Radio 1 shares his personal tip from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Introducing, as does one of the Introducing shows from around the UK.
At 11 o'clock Tom launches The After Hour, where he dusts off tracks from the outer reaches of his record collection.
