Donald Morrison looks back at the impact the sea had on the Gaelic community during the 1970s, a period of great change for the River Clyde.

Tha Dòmhnall Moireasdan a' toirt sùil air mar a bha na meadhanan a' nochdadh anns an t-sreath seo a chaidh a chraoladh an toiseach sna 1970an. Aig àm a chunnacas atharrachaidhean mòra a' tighinn air Abhainn Chluaidh, chuir Màrtainn Dòmhnallach ùine seachad cuide ris a' "Skye Navy", ghabh e sgrìob a Thiriodh air bàta-cargu Mhic a' Bhriuthainn, an Loch Carrainn, airson a turas mu dheireadh chun an eilein agus chaidh e a Mhalaig, aon de na puirt iasgaich as motha air taobh siar na h-Alba a bha a' strì le ceanglaichean còmhdhail.

Donald Morrison looks back at the impact the sea had on the Gaelic community during the 1970s. This was a period of great change for the River Clyde and journalist Martin MacDonald spends time on the river with the 'Skye Navy'. He also travels to Tiree on MacBrayne's cargo boat, the Lochcarron, on her last voyage to the island. Martin also reports from Mallaig, one of the last herring ports on the west coast which was struggling with transport links.
