Human rights lawyer Clive Stafford Smith has spent over 25 years working on behalf of defendants facing the death penalty in the US and prisoners in GuantΓ΅namo Bay.Β  He has received numerous awards including an OBE in 2000 for his 'humanitarian services' and the Gandhi Peace Award in 2004.Β
