Christopher Sleight follows in the footsteps of mountaineer George Mallory, plus Mark Stephen and Euan McIlwraith look back on some of the year's adventures.
Mallory on Ben Nevis: Mountaineer George Mallory is famous for his attempts to reach the summit of Mount Everest - and for the mystery surrounding his death on that mountain in 1924. But until very recently, no-one knew anything about a week in 1906 that he spent climbing on the UK's highest mountain. Guided by Mallory's biographer, Peter Gillman, Christopher Sleight follows in the footsteps of Mallory, from his arrival in Fort William, to high on the north face of Ben Nevis.
After seven, Mark and Euan look back at some of the best adventures of the Out of Doors year including climbing the Ptarmigan Ridge, snorkelling on Barra, canoeing on Loch Lomond and a deliverance-style banjo duel with a blackbird.
