Black Dyke Band in Concert

Frank Renton presents a recording of current National Champions Black Dyke Band in concert at the Royal Albert Hall.

Black Dyke are the current National Champions. Between the competition and the announcement of the results their Gala concert in the Royal Albert Hall included a big band set on The Volga Boatman, What a Wonderful World and Sing Sing Sing. Richard Marshall revisits some classic cornet repertoire in Miss Blue Bonnet, one of the current crop of young 'in demand' arrangers Jonathan Bates takes another look at a familiar tune with his Carnival of Venus for Euphonium star Gary Curtin and Paul Lovatt-Cooper's Fire in the Blood brings the show to a sparkling conclusion.
