Today's running order

0710
We introduce our guest editor for the programme, Tracey Thorn.

0712
Awful weather in some parts of the country. Travel disruption - King's Cross in London is closed all day. Our reporter Andy Moore is at King's Cross. Our weather reporter Alex Deakin gives us some more details of what the weather's likely to do over the weekend.

0715
Our guest editor Tracey Thorn has been both a writer and receiver of plenty of fanmail over the years. A couple of weeks ago we asked you - our audience - to get in touch if you had ever had an unusual interaction with one of your idols. Natalie Jamieson has been listening to some of your stories - and hearing from a few stars.

0724
Play station and X-box gamers have had a difficult Christmas. Both Sony and Microsoft have had problems with their internet platforms for players, apparently because of a cyber-attack. Our technology editor is Rory Cellan-Jones.

0733
Parents are bombarded with news and warnings about how the internet is dangerous for teenagers. We're told that being online is rewiring their brains. Our guest editor, Tracey Thorn has noticed a lack of positive stories about young people and the internet. She wanted to find out whether the internet had helped gay teens in coming to terms with their identity. Tracey asked Damian Barr, radio 4 presenter and author of "Maggie & Me", a memoir of growing up as a gay man in small-town Scotland in the 80s, to talk to some gay teenagers for us.

0744
The US military released a video on Friday showing what it said was an airstrike on buildings being used by the Islamic State group near Aleppo in Syria. It came on the day that the father of a Jordanian pilot seized by Islamic State militants in Syria has renewed a plea for his release. We hear from Jim Muir, our correspondent in Beiruit

0747
One of our guest editor Tracey Thorn's audiobook extracts. This one is former Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Secretary Alan Johnson, reading a passage from his memoirs, titled 'This Boy'.

0752
The Environment Secretary Liz Truss is making a startling claim today. : that productivity in the countryside could be about to overtake growth in our cities for the first time since the industrial revolution. How does she work that out? And what are people in places affected by rural poverty meant to make of it? She joins us now.

0810
We hear from Jonathan Beales, a computer games expert who is currently making a documentary about Sony Playstation.

0814
There's been an explosion in the popularity of young adult fiction, but though the genre is commercially successful, it seems to be an undervalued area of the literary world. Our guest editor Tracey Thorn wondered whether that's because it is consumed by teenagers - most often girls - whose literary tastes aren't taken seriously. We hear from Samantha Shannon, a young novelist, author of 'the Bone Season,' and Caitlin Moran, author of 'How to Build a Girl' and 'How to be a Woman'...

0821
Another of Tracey Thorn's favourite audiobooks. This is Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham and it's read by the actor Samuel West.

0823
The latest on the travel problems that are afflicting many people today. We hear from Martin Fellowes from the Highways Agency, and Simon Calder, the Travel Editor at the Independent.

0833
For teenagers in care who are approaching adulthood, there's the looming spectre of independence. Many face the prospect of having to pack their bags at the age of 18 and move out. The government has recently changed the law to allow children who have been in foster care to stay with their foster family until they reach the age of 21. We have this special report from Ashley John-Baptiste, himself a care leaver who has been speaking to others who have just left care.

0845
Another extract from an audiobook now, chosen by our guest editor Tracey Thorn. This is Bossypants read by its author, Tina Fey.

0846
The US military released a video on Friday showing what it said was an airstrike on buildings being used by the Islamic State group near Aleppo in Syria. It came on the day that the father of a Jordanian pilot seized by Islamic State militants in Syria has renewed a plea for his release. Jordan is a key ally in the US led airstrikes and has vowed to continue its fight against the group. But at what price are they willing to continue? We hear from Mustafa Hamarneh, a Jordanian MP and former head of the Jordan Centre for Strategic Studies.

0850
