Classical Consequences

On a cold, damp November evening in Copenhagen, the celebrated pianist Alfred Brendel was giving a recital. The audience coughed and sneezed so much that eventually he couldn’t take it any more, and stopped in the middle of a piece. What happened next?
Brendel stopped playing, fixed the audience with a cool stare and said: "Ladies and gentlemen, I can hear you, but I doubt if you can hear me."
