Sharon Rooney and Phyllida Lloyd, John Otway, and behind the scenes at the pantomime

Janice Forsyth talks to actress Sharon Rooney and director Phyllida Lloyd plus singer John Otway about their respective bids for the Christmas No 1.

Actress Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary) and director Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!, The Iron Lady) from the recent Donmar Warehouse hit production of Henry IV talk about the song the cast has recorded and released in time for Christmas to raise money for charity- the Glasvegas song Daddy's Gone.

Singer-songwriter John Otway talks about his own bid for Christmas No 1.

Happy Christmas from the Glasgow School of Art: we hear from graduate Ross Hogg about blending history with old and new techniques to make a unique animated 'christmas card' to be projected on the side of the building every night between now and the big day.

We drop in on the pantomimes currently running in Ayr and Dunfermline and talk frocks, stamina and the technique behind belting out the big numbers night after night.

And modern libraries- how digital technology and social networking is being used to increase visitor numbers and create community around the library.
