Tom Morton chats to Richard Balls, author of the book Be Stiff: The Stiff Records Story, plus guitarist Jim Campilongo features in A Sideman's Journey.
Tom Morton opens his record bag to play the very best in pop and rock music from Scotland's greats as well as the rest of the world with regular features Spin The Globe, Last Orders and Early Morning Soul. Tom chats to author Richard Balls about his latest publication 'Be Stiff: The Stiff Records Story' a book charting the full history of the iconic record label which launched in 1976 and in this weekend's Sideman's Journey, Tom highlights the career of guitarist and composer Jim Campilongo, solo career and associated with many artists including Cake, Bright Eyes, JJ Cale, Norah Jones, Gillian Welch, Little Willies and Martha Wainwright. In the Same Title, Different Song feature, the track is 'Whipping Boy' with versions from The Icicle Works and Ben Harper.
