Live from Manchester Central Library

Mark and Stuart present live from Manchester Central Library with guests including the library's writer in residence, Emma Jane Unsworth, and New Order's Bernard Sumner.

As part of 6 Music Celebrates Libraries, Mark and Stuart present a special show, live from Manchester Central Library. With special guests including the Library's Writer-In-Residence Emma Jane Unsworth, New Order's Bernard Sumner talking about his new autobiography, actor Celyn Jones (who plays Dylan Thomas in the recent film Set Fire to the Stars), Manchester Music archivist Abigail Jones and a live set from Everything Everything, Mark and Stuart will raise the circular roof with all this and quality tunes to boot.

Mark Radcliffe says of the event, 'The Central Library is one of the key landmark buildings of the city I've grown up in, and its spectacular renovation cements its stature for generations of Mancunians to come. It's an honour to be doing a programme from there'.

Stuart Maconie adds, 'I grew up in libraries, almost literally, and certainly learned as much there as I did in school. They are at the heart of any civilised society and we should treasure them and get excited about them, as we have done in Birmingham and Manchester recently'.

Plus they'll be joined 6 Music's very own Guy Garvey and Chris 'Early Breakfast' Hawkins, who'll be introducing a track specially written by Scroobius Pip for the 6 Music Celebrates Libraries week.
