Pupils from an Edinburgh school explore how their community was affected by World War I. They visit the battlefields of France and Flanders.
5/5 Over the past year, pupils from Portobello High School in Edinburgh, have been exploring how World War One changed the lives of people from their community.
In this episode, the students follow in the footsteps of their predecessors, making a journey to the World War One battlefields of France and Flanders. They walk in the only remaining original trenches from the Western Front, visit the graves of soldiers from their school and reflect on the War.
