New cracks have been found in one of the reactors at the Hunterston B nuclear power station in Ayrshire, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has learned. The plant's operator, EDF Energy, has insisted the cracking was predicted to occur as the station ages.

The firm said the issue would not affect the safe operation of the reactor.

But anti-nuclear campaigners said it highlighted a potential problem for similar reactors around the UK.

And - what's the future for newspapers in Scotland?

The Sunday Post celebrated its 100th anniversary this weekend. At its peak the paper was named in the Guinness Book of Records as the most-read paper in the world in its circulation area, with more than 1.7 million copies sold every weekend in a country of 5 million people. These days, in an increasingly saturated market, and amid competition from the internet the circulation is closer to 200,000. Also this week we learned that yet more Scottish journalists jobs are to be cut as newspapers reduce costs and introduce technological change.
