Chrissie Hynde

Chrissie Hynde joins Simon Mayo to talk about Stockholm, her first solo album after 35 years fronting the Pretenders.

In the run up to Radio 2's Hyde Park festival in a day, one of the all-time legends of rock 'n' roll Chrissie Hynde joins Simon to talk about going solo.

Famously known as the front woman for The Pretenders, she helped create the sound of a generation with Number One hit singles and rock anthems 'Brass in Pocket' and 'My City Was Gone', in the 70's and 80's.

After 35 years fronting The Pretenders, her debut solo album Stockholm sees a fresh take on her previous music with Chrissie describing the album as a "power pop album you (can) dance to - Abba meets John Lennon".
