Simon welcomes British author Linda Newbery into the Radio 2 Book Club. Linda was a schoolteacher when her first novel for the young adult market was published in 1988, but she became a full-time writer in 2000 and has gone on to write for all ages. As a child she was a secret writer, filling exercise books which she hid in her wardrobe. She now lives in an Oxfordshire village and Quarter Past Two on a Wednesday Afternoon is her first novel for adults.
