Aviemore - Scotland's First Outdoor Capital - As the popularity of skiing in the Cairngorms grew from the 1960's, Aviemore itself grew from a small village into a buzzing holiday town. These days it's still a very popular family destination with all sorts of outdoor activities on offer, from windsurfing, to mountain biking, zip wiring to white water rafting.
