Cathy Macdonald asks whether more women MPs are needed.
TOPIC 1: ASSISTED DYING
The Church of England has called for an inquiry into assisted dying. It follows a U-turn by former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey, who said he would back legislation to allow the terminally ill in England and Wales get help to end their lives. The current Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby says the Assisted Dying Bill is "mistaken and dangerous". In Scotland our own bill, The Assisted Suicide Scotland Bill, is currently sitting at stage one of the parliamentary process.
Cathy asks: Have you changed your stance on assisted dying?
TOPIC 2: WOMEN MPS
APPG Women in Parliament Inquiry 2014 launch a report on Improving Parliament today. The report aims to provide a new framework for modernising parliament and creating a more aspirational, modern and representative government. The central notion of this Inquiry is covering the increase of the representation of women in parliament and how this will improve democracy.
Cathy asks: Do we need more women MPs?
