Jim Buttress shares his passion for allotments and Carina Contini cooks with her home-grown chard and strawberries, plus Frances Pringle on combating mildew on gooseberry bushes.
Cook and food writer Carina Contini gets busy in the al fresco kitchen, outside the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ in Inverness. This week Carina shows Pennie and the team how to make soup with chard and flat leaf parsley (picked fresh from her own garden!) and also toffee strawberry tarts with her newly ripened strawberries.
Gardener and judge from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ2's Allotment Challenge Jim Buttress shares his passion for gardening and talks about how the way people lay out their gardens and allotments - and what they choose to grow - often reflects their personalities!
Gardening expert Frances Pringle advises on how to combat mildew and sawfly in gooseberry bushes and the importance of keeping an eye on the pests before it's too late.
Continuing our culinary jaunt around the Commonwealth, world food expert Ghillie Basan talks about the food traditions of Canada and the cuisines from all over the world that are found there.
