Tax free childcare, new ways to tackle modern slavery and the issue of child abuse and neglect are all likely to be in this year’s Queen Speech. As the State Opening of Parliament gets underway we look at what’s being done to attract the woman’s vote at next year’s General Election and how the other main parties are positioning themselves on issues like child care to attract working parents.Â

The Government is introducing tax breaks worth up to £2,000 per child to help working parents to meet the costs of childcare. Jenni talks to Nicky Morgan, the Women’s Minister and Financial Secretary to the Treasury, about how this tax relief will work and about what she is doing to make sure women’s voices are heard in government.

She became one of Britain’s first female MP's in 1923 and six years later became the country’s first woman cabinet minister. She was also the only female chairman of the T.U.C General Council.
