Craig Charles' Funk and Soul show - Live in Liverpool

Craig Charles' Funk and Soul show - Live in Liverpool

Exciting news - Craig Charles is bringing his trunk of funk back home to The Waterfront.

On Friday 13 June, he will bring a special edition of his Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 6 Music Funk and Soul show to Liverpool’s iconic Liver building.

In front of a live audience Craig will be joined by special guests Smoove and Turrell on a special diversion from his European Tour, Lee Fields.

The show will also feature some of the listener’s favourite sections from Craig's weekly 6 Music show, such as the Spinnage au Trois.

It will culminate with a DJ set from the man himself – one sure to be filled with some of the most soulful and funkiest tunes around.

“I can't wait to unleash the funk in Liverpool," Craig says.

"Open air gigs always have an amazing atmosphere, but with this being a homecoming show it is going to be a really special night for me and, I hope, everyone in the crowd.â€

Before Craig takes to the stage, Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio Merseyside will get the party started with an hour of music from local acts with a huge future: Accapella four-piece, MiC Lowry will join Esco Williams who was the 2012 winner of MOBO’s Unsung Award.

Together this will be four hours of amazing live music and performances.

The show will be broadcast on The Craig Charles Soul and Funk Show on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 6 Music from 6pm on Saturday 14 June.

The event is free and non-ticketed – attendees should just turn up on the day. Gates open at 5.30pm and the first act start at 6pm. This event is part of On The Waterfront Festival and is being delivered in partnership with Liverpool City Council.
