This week, Jamie Cullum's guest is the British pianist and composer Gwilym Simcock. He talks about becoming a musician and the challenges and joys of mixing jazz with classical music. Gwilym tells Jamie how he got into jazz through artists like Egberto Gismonti and Pat Metheny.

He also discusses writing pieces for other musicians and his recent work with the City of London Sinfonia and collaborating with bassist Yuri Goloubev.

Jamie also showcases his love for all types of jazz and music rooted in jazz, representing new music from around the world.
