Clare English hears from people with learning disabilities. Donald Stirling shares his experiences, including how he was able to to have a job, his own home, find love and marry.

This year the Scottish Charity 'Enable Scotland' Celebrates its 60th Year, they have been actively campaigning for a better life for Children and adults who have learning disabilities, supporting them to live, work, and take part in their communities - basically trying to help them to reach their highest potential, whatever that may be.

Clare English speaks to people with learning disabilities, voices we rarely hear from on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Scotland to learn how changing policies have impacted on their lives-
Donald Stirling's life could've been very different if it hadn't been for the foresight of one doctor who questioned why Donald had been languishing in a long stay hospital for more than ten years.

Today, with a job, his own flat, a girlfriend and an MBE under his belt for services to Learning disabilities, Donald has certainly lived a full life, tune in to hear how the course of his life changed so dramatically when he was finally released from the hospital.
