Leo Green celebrates the life and songs of Ervin Drake, who died last month.

Originally broadcast to coincide with Ervin's 95th birthday celebrations and now repeated to mark his death last month Leo Green talks to the great man about his incredible life in music. Ervin composed some of the most loved songs of all time - we'll hear how and when he wrote such classics as 'Good Morning Heartache' and 'It Was A Very Good Year', all accompanied by recordings from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Rosemary Clooney. We'll also enjoy some of Ervin's recollections of working with Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ethel Merman and Nat King Cole, as well as hearing of his dealings with the various songwriting giants of the day: Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and others.
