The Rails in session

An hour of the best folk and acoustic music from Britain and beyond, with fast-rising folk rock duo The Rails, aka Kami Thompson and James Walbourne, live in session.

An hour of the best folk and acoustic music from Britain and beyond.

This week, Mark's live session guests are The Rails: Kami Thompson and James Walbourne. Formerly known as The Dead Flamingoes, Kami and James have released an album called Fair Warning on Island Record's revived 'pink label' (Fairport Convention, Nick Drake, John Martyn). The record has been produced with Edwyn Collins and features Eliza Carthy on fiddle.

Kami is the youngest daughter of Richard and Linda Thompson and James has played guitar for The Pretenders, Ray Davies, The Pogues and Son Volt. Both musicians have released solo records in recent years but on this week's Folk Show they perform their exciting new duo material backed by a full band.
