8/8 Idlewild were one of the biggest bands to come out of Scotland in the 1990's and their success was in no small way down to lead vocalist and songwriter Roddy Woomble.
Now an established solo artist Roddy's lived in New York, written for newspapers and magazines and is now more likely to be found walking down the main street in Tobermory on Mull than on New York's 5th Avenue or Glasgow's Sauchiehall street.
Roddy tells Phil Cunningham about his musical journey and picks tracks by by REM, Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Lena Horne.
