Johnnie revives the spirit of freeform American FM radio, playing the artists nurtured by 'underground' radio and the contemporary musicians who have been influenced by them.

Johnnie revives the spirit of freeform American FM radio broadcast during the late sixties and seventies. In Los Angeles, the car is king. Johnnie plays three songs about automobiles by the Doobie Brothers, War and Tom Waits. Joni Mitchell wrote 'Free Man In Paris' about manager, agent and record company owner David Geffen. We hear music from some of his artists, including Laura Nyro and Judee Sill.
