Fanfare for the Common Man

Johnnie hears the seventies memories of Carl Palmer, drummer with the progressive rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

Johnnie Walker celebrates the decade of Gloria Gaynor, Golden Earring and Grand Funk Railroad.

This week he'll bring you the seventies memories of Carl Palmer, best known as the drummer with progressive rock outfit Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Since their initial success in the decade, the band went on to sell over forty million albums and headline stadium concerts across the globe. Palmer's career has also seen him appear with groups including The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Atomic Rooster and Asia.

Also on the show, Johnnie will revisit a moment from the decade courtesy of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ archive and another classic seven-inch single will be added into Johnnie's Jukebox.
