Godfrey Family
Nicki Chapman catches up with the Godfrey family, who were considering a move to Australia. One year after their trial week in Perth, which side of the world are they living on?
The Godfreys from Glasgow were desperate for more time together. Unable to find work in Scotland, mum Julie had spent almost five years working in London, meaning long separations from husband Alan and son Cole. Julie believed a move to Australia could bring the family together again.
But during a trial week in Perth, the family were not entirely convinced by the local housing market, and Alan was visibly upset by messages from his brother back home. One year on, have the Godfreys finally achieved the time together they were desperate for? And which side of the world are they living on?

UPDATE: The Godfrey family
The family are continuing to embrace their new life down under. Julie’s job is going well and with his electrical license finally granted, Alan recently started a new job too. Cole started high school at the start of February and has been accepted onto a specialist football programme. The couple have also moved into a new home with a pool, in Secret Harbour. Keen to share their success and experience with others, Julie is collaborating with a friend to launch a business aimed at welcoming new families to Perth.
