The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Philharmonic and HallΓ© orchestras join forces for 'Strauss's Voice', a celebration of the music of Richard Strauss in the 150th anniversary of his birth which focuses on his outstandingly prolific writing of orchestral songs. Tonight, Juanjo Mena conducts both orchestras in four settings including two rarely heard works, his darkly haunting 'Notturno' and 'Nachtlicher Gang.' The full force of his orchestral colours and virtuosity is unleashed in his Festival Prelude and his epic tone poem, 'An Alpine Symphony.'.
