Don’t end up with costly mobile bills

Using your mobile abroad can be a costly mistake and the price of calls and texts vary around the world. Our travel expert Simon Calder reminds us in this series of Rip Off Britain: Holidays that Turkey isn’t in the European Union, so therefore the normal cap on call roaming charges doesn’t apply. That means your provider can pretty much charge whatever they want. Charges can be up to 5 times as much to make a call, as it costs to dial from neighbouring Greece or Cyprus.
