Cher

Age 67, back after 11 years with a new album, a US number one single called Woman鈥檚 World, and as the only artist to have had a single on the Billboard pop charts in each of the last six decades, Cher joins Jenni to describe her life as a powerful female icon across these changing decades, and how her experiences as a woman have shaped her.

Power List Interview: Kanya King

The , or Music Of Black Origin awards, are a huge event on the UK music calendar, playing host to artists like Beyonce, Emeli Sande, Jessie J, and Rhianna, and with a global TV audience of over 250 million. However before their launch in 1996 they were an idea borne in founder Kanya King鈥檚 bedroom. As a young single mother who had dropped out of university, she used her vision and determination to create awards to celebrate the music she loved, and to make a huge impact as a mixed-race woman in the male-dominated music world.听 Just three years later, in 1999, she was awarded an MBE, and earlier this year she was named as one of the 100 most powerful women on the Woman鈥檚 Hour Power List. 鈥淪uccess in life is not always about having the right education or the most money,鈥 she has said, 鈥渟ometimes it鈥檚 about having the right mindset.鈥 So what is that mindset? The MOBOs were founded 18 years ago, and so to mark their coming of age, Radio 1Xtra presenter Sarah Jane Crawford met Kanya King to find out just how she made it - how she took the MOBOs from bedroom to boardroom, and how she gained power, and also helped others, all along the way. 听

Midori

Violinist Midori Goto made her international debut with听the New York Philharmonic at the tender age of 11.听She played the big first movement of Paganini鈥檚 Violin Concerto No. 1 and charmed the audience.听Now听Midori is not only a renowned soloist, but also a teacher, a UN peace Ambassador, and founder of several music non-profit organisations听for under-priviledged children.

Chloe Howl

is an 18-year old pop star who sings about the stuff teenagers REALLY do.听 She describes her music as pop 鈥 but more 鈥渟teak and kidney,鈥 than bubble-gum.听 Chloe is on the long-list for the 麻豆约拍 Sound Of 2014. 听So is she the next big thing? 听She joins Jenni to perform and tell us about her new single.听听

Chl枚e Howl's new single Paper Heart is on Columbia Records.

Stevie Nicks

Stevie Nicks has been called 鈥渢he ultimate rock goddess,鈥 and now at 65 is certainly not about to retire from the role. Reunited with Fleetwood Mac, she鈥檚 about to play a string of UK dates on a massive world tour, the band鈥檚 multi-million selling album Rumours has been re-released 35 years after it reached number one, they have an EP of new material, and tonight she premiers her new film, In Your Dreams 鈥 a documentary about her solo album of the same name. But she鈥檚 famed too, of course, not just for her music, but also for the 鈥榮oap opera鈥 of drugs, 听relationships and break-ups that was a backdrop to the music of Fleetwood Mac 鈥 and particularly for her difficult romantic relationship and breakup with band member Lindsay Buckingham, which she sang about in her hit song Dreams. Stevie Nicks joins Jane Garvey to discuss being a woman in a very male dominated music world, her tumultuous personal relationships, dealing with addiction, her new documentary, being reunited with bandmate Christine McVie, and her relationship today with ex-partner and guitarist Lindsay Buckingham.

Stevie Nicks鈥 new documentary film In Your Dreams is available on DVD.

The re-released deluxe version of Rumours, Stevie鈥檚 solo album In Your Dreams, and Fleetwood Mac鈥檚 new material, Extended Play, are all out now.

Jessie J

Jessie J shot to fame when she won the 麻豆约拍 Sound Of 听Poll and the Brits Critics Choice Award in 2011, quickly followed by her debut album Who You Are. She shot to instant chart success with in your face hit Do It Like A Dude and bold challenging image, and she鈥檚 been a cheerleader for self-belief in her own career and in mentoring others on TV鈥檚 The Voice. However she鈥檚 also had to work hard and overcome her own personal hurdles to get where she is today 鈥 not least a heart condition, and subsequent bullying as a child. She鈥檚 just left The Voice to concentrate on her own singing career, and so, as she prepares to release a new studio album and announces her new single 听It鈥檚 My Party, she joins Woman鈥檚 Hour to talk about the struggles she鈥檚 faced, being a role model and mentor, and the self-belief and talent that鈥檚 helped her make it to the top.

Meklit Hadero

The singer/songwriter was born in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and raised in the US.听 She is known for her soulful performing style, and for combining jazz, folk, and East African influences in her music.听 Meklit is a TED听Senior Fellow and recently attended the TED Global Conference at Oxford University with a group of 24 other fellows (including young artists, scientists, NGO leaders, and inspiring individuals from around the world.)听听听She joins Jenni to talk about her musical career, arts and culture work, and, along with her band, to perform the track Leaving Soon live in the studio.听
