Winter is the busiest time for Wyevale Transplants, which grows millions of native trees and shrubs every year. Sarah Swadling visits as the harvest, grading, and despatch of plants is in full swing. They'll be sent to customers as diverse as farmers restoring hedgerows and developers building roads. Wyevale's director, Steve Ashworth, tells Sarah that the emergence of Ash Dieback has cost the business more than 拢100,000 in stock which can't be sold. On the upside, though, he says the disease has given customers a new interest in the provenance of British grown plants.
