What is the best form of childcare?

Last week Woman’s Hour looked at childcare around the world, focusing on how pre-school children are cared for when their parents go back to work. We explored two different systems; a boarding kindergarten for children in China and childcare in Fiji, where grandparents and older siblings look after younger children when their parents return to work. But what is the best way to look after children and can childcare affect a child’s development? Jane is joined by the psychologist Penelope Leach and by Dr Eva Lloyd, Reader in Early Childhood at the University of East London, to discuss the issues.
