Liam Logan is at a celebration for the Digital Bible Library, as Ulster Scots joins the hundreds of languages in which the Scriptures are available on-line. Liam hears how the years spent on this translation project have produced work that can now be accessed the world over. As part of Radio Ulster’s commemoration of Seamus Heaney, Wilson Burgess and Frank Ferguson talk about the Ulster Scots influences on his poetry, and there’s a shared reading of A Birl for Burns. Andrew Sneddon tells Liam about his new book Possessed by the Devil, which gives the real history of the Islandmagee witches and their trial; and in New England, Mark Wilson hears about Robert Dinsmoor, the rustic bard of New Hampshire, who proudly wrote in ‘Scotch – the dialect of his ancestors’, two hundred years ago.
