The Story of Trock
Huw Stephens borrows the Tardis and travels back in time 50 years to tell the story of Doctor Who with help from the fans behind Time Lord Rock, plus Matt Smith and Steven Moffatt.
Doctor Who celebrates its fiftieth birthday this weekend, and Huw Stephens meets fellow fans to tell the story of Trock - or Time Lord rock. Trock's a musical genre inspired by the stories and characters of Doctor Who, and made famous by YouTube video bloggers like Charlie McDonnell and Alex Day. We're going back in time to tell the story of the show, including a special message to Radio 1's Doctor Who fans from out-going Doctor Matt Smith. From the Dalek-mania of the 60s to the show's phenomenal reboot in 2005, from a junkyard on Totters Lane to theatre-filling premieres in New York City, we're celebrating the Doctor's birthday with his biggest fans.
