Episode 1 of 10

Reviewing the progress of the Queen's Baton Relay, as it makes its way across the Commonwealth. Plus, how the baton was created and a look ahead to the Games.

In the first of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland's documentaries following the Queen's Baton Relay, Sophie Raworth presents The Story So Far as the baton begins its journey around the Commonwealth nations and territories, ahead of Glasgow 2014. Along with highlights from the official ceremony at Buckingham Palace where the Queen placed her message to the Commonwealth inside the baton, Mark Beaumont will be bringing news from the first countries the Baton passed through. This will include the baton's arrival in New Delhi, host to the last Commonwealth Games, where Mark tries out mud wrestling, a tradition which produces some of the country's most successful athletes. The baton then moves to Dhaka in Bangladesh, where cyclist Mark gets back on his bike and discovers how the locals are trying to find a solution to traffic problems.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland's Commonwealth Games reporter, Jane Lewis also shows how the baton was created and Hazel Irvine looks ahead to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, the venues involved, and the athletes due to compete in Scotland.
