Colonel Colburn, director of 'The President's Own' United States Marine Band

Frank Renton with Colonel Colburn, current Director 'The President's Own' United States Marine Band, who talks about one of his famous predecessors, March King John Philip Sousa.

Established by an act of Congress in 1798 and playing at all White House functions and events for over 200 years The 'President's Own' United States Marine Band has long been regarded as one of the world's finest military bands. It's the oldest American music making organisation and can boast that its 17th Director was John Philip Sousa, 'The March King' who wrote all his famous marches for the band. Tonight Frank Renton features this, his all time favourite band as he's joined by current Director Colonel Michael J Colburn.
