This new exhibition at Down County Museum shows the amazing work of two keen photographers who took hundreds of pictures of South Down in the 1940’s, 60’s and 70’s. Lesley Simpson is Keeper of Collections at the museum and he’ll tell us all about the photographs of Pat Hudson and Cecil Newman. Anne Marie travelled to Islandmagee to hear the story of the famous witch trial which happened 300 years ago. The true story is still part of local folklore and fascinates historians, like Andrew Sneddon, who lectures at the University of Ulster at Coleraine. Andrew has written a book ‘Possessed by the Devil – the Real History of the Islandmagee Witches’, where his haunting tale can be found.

In Armagh and Down there’s an array of events taking place to encourage people to give an hour to nature. At the Ring of Gullion there’ll be a ‘seed saving’ day where the public will help form a community tree nursery. Abby McSherry is the Project Officer and she'll tell us all about the event. 250 years ago the Hazlett family moved into a house a few miles outside Coleraine near Castlerock, and it was in the family up until the mid 1970’s. Ronan Lundy takes a look through the key hole of the National Trust property, and is guided around the authentic 18th century house by warden Toby Edwards. Hubble, bubble, toil and trouble at Castle Espie, the Spellbound Festival kicks off and will send shivers up your spine. John McCullough is the Learning Manager of Castle Espie and he has some frightening ghost stories that have happened on site. A new yearlong project to re-discover the rural heritage of a unique part of County Fermanagh has just begun. Killesher and Cleenish will come together in community spirit to make bricks, restore Arney Bridge and to combine in archaeological digs. Cleenish man Barney Devine is a volunteer with the project and he’ll chat to us about the two community associations joining forces.
