One of the best known names in the band world, Philip McCann, was recently awarded the coveted Iles medal for his lifelong contribution to the music. He talks to Frank Renton about setting up the Sellers International Band, his star days as Black Dyke's solo cornet player and the continuing popularity of 'The World's Greatest Melodies', a series of solo recordings which began when he was just 19.
