Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert

Johnnie celebrates Eric Clapton's 1973 Rainbow Theatre concert and Booker T Jones remembers the decade in My 70s.

Johnnie Walker relives the decade of Patton, The French Connection and The Godfather.

This week he's celebrating Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert, the 1973 live album recorded in London. Organised by Pete Townshend, the concert marked Clapton's comeback after the 1971 Concert For Bangladesh. It featured an all-star cast of contributors, including Ronnie Wood, Steve Winwood and Townshend himself joining Clapton on stage.

Also on the show, Booker T. Jones of Booker T. & The M.G.s will remember the decade in My 70s. Best known for the hit Green Onions, the seventies saw him work with Stephen Stills and record his own music away from the Stax label.

Slade reaching the top of the album charts will be revisited courtesy of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ archive, and another solid gold smash of a single will be added to Johnnie's Jukebox.
