Douglas Fraser goes on a musical journey through the Scottish economy, visiting towns that were seen to have been wiped out by the mass job losses of the Thatcher years.

This week on Business Scotland, Douglas Fraser goes on a musical journey through the Scottish economy. Twenty five years ago The Proclaimers released their hit, Letter From America which reflects on Scotland's history of forced emigration from the Highland Clearances in the 19th century to the economic depression in the 1970s and 80s. Douglas examines what happened to the fears from quarter of a century ago of industry and jobs being 'no more' in places like Bathgate, Methil and Linwood. He visits the towns seen back then as wiped out by the mass job losses of the Thatcher years.
