To mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic album Dark Side of the Moon, Tom Robinson invites listeners to compile the Ultimate Pink Floyd Playlist.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the iconic album 'Dark Side Of The Moon', Tom Robinson invites listeners to compile The Ultimate Pink Floyd Playlist.
For one night only, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6 Music's Sony gold-winning social media-driven show also will be simulcast live on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2, in this unmissable Bank Holiday Monday special.
This unique show puts the audience in control of the music across both networks for two hours, as listeners collaborate online to pick the tracks - providing the perfect build up to a night of exciting programming on the two different stations.
This includes Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2's original new play 'Dark Side', penned by long-term Pink Floyd fan Sir Tom Stoppard. It stars Bill Nighy and Rufus Sewell, and incorporates music from the band's groundbreaking 1973 album. Meanwhile, on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6 Music, Gideon Coe presents a Pink Floyd Special featuring live material and rare album cuts.
'Dark Side Of The Moon', with its psychedelic art rock-blues-jazz fusion, has not only influenced future generations of musicians. It also continues to intrigue music fans looking for hidden meanings in its construction - the most popular being an alleged connection to the 1939 film classic, 'The Wizard of Oz'.
So, to celebrate, Tom Robinson asks listeners to pick their favourite Pink Floyd-inspired tracks - via Twitter using the hashtag #DarkSide, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6 Music Facebook pages, email or text.
This could be music from:
* Other iconic musicians who been influenced by Pink Floyd's experimental techniques - such as David Bowie, Brian Eno, Queen or Talking Heads
* Fellow prog rock peers - like Yes, The Moody Blues or Emerson, Lake & Palmer
* Pink Floyd b-sides, rarities or solo material from its various band members
* Recent artists who have borrowed from the group's musical stylings - such as Muse, Mystery Jets or Mars Volta
* Other albums that have attracted debate about hidden meanings or messages - like The Beatles' White Album or Led Zeppelin's IV album.
