Bettany Hughes is an award-winning historian, author and broadcaster. Her television credits for theΒ Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ includeΒ Divine Women, The 7 Wonders of the Buddhish World and The Day Jesus Died. Her first book Helen of Troy: Goddess, Princess, Whore was published to critical acclaim and has now been translated into ten languages. Her latest work The Hemlock Cup - Socrates, Athens and the Search for the Good Life was a New York Times bestseller.

Next month Bettany Hughes presentsΒ a new Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 series "The Ideas That Make Us" in which she explores the history of the ideas that make us human. The series starts on 16th September.
