Liz McColgan
Liz McColgan speaks to her mum Betty about what it was like for her as an Olympic athlete to watch her own daughter Eilish, compete at the London 2012 Olympic games.
Liz McColgan and her mum Betty reminisce about Liz's running career and her Commonwealth and Olympic running success. Anecdotal stories such as how Liz was given the keys to the city of Tuscaloosa by Ronald Regan are shared. And feelings of disappointment at winning Silver at Seoul are remembered. With Eilish, Liz's daughter also now a runner, the two mums compare notes on what it feels like to watch your daughter compete in the Olympics. Above all is the sense of enormous pride that Betty, Liz's mum, feels at being able to say that both her daughter and granddaughter are Olympic athletes.
