A special programme featuring five of the winners from our My Favourite Place writing competition, as part of Book Week Scotland.
Mark Stephen joins the writers at the special places which inspired them to take pen to paper, including a tumbledown cottage in Argyll, a nunnery on Iona, a loch at Rannoch Moor and the island of South Rona. Plus Euan takes a ride with the Mobile Library Man of Assynt, as he sings his way from village to village.
And from six thirty, Communities are doing it for themselves. The National Audit Office recently reported that the UK is lagging 2 years behind in its roll out of rural broadband. Euan McIlwraith hears from those places where being connected to the rest of the world is now seen as key to the survival of their way of life.
