This month sees the publication of a new book What do Women Want? by journalist Daniel Bergner in which he combines the latest research by behavioral scientists, sexologists and psychologist on female desire. It includes anecdotes and case studies to argue for a fundamental rethink on the nature of female desire. Daniel Bergner and writer and psychotherapist Susie Orbach join Jane in the studio. Â

Since becoming an MP, Yvette Cooper has been tipped for high office, becoming the first female Chief Secretary to the Treasury inTony Blair’s government. She was also the first minister to take maternity leave and with husband Ed Balls, was part of the first married couple to sit in Cabinet. Jane Garvey joined the Shadow Â鶹ԼÅÄ Secretary and Woman’s Hour Powerlister in her West Yorkshire constituency to talk about ambition, the two Eds, and her battle with civil servants whom she felt excluded her while she was a Minister on maternity leave.

Glastonbury is over but we are still in mid-festival season, and with the sun out now it’s goodbye to the wellies. Festivals are a massive logistical endeavor, and many women are at the helm making the festivals more than just about the music - people like Emily Eavis who runs Glastonbury and Josie Da Bank at Bestival. So what does it take to bring together a major festival,involve the arts and to make it family friendly? Jane Garvey is joined by Arts Programmers Tania Harrison of Latitude, and Becky Burchell of Bestival and the family orientated Camp Bestival.
